New Jersey Lawyers Assistance announces a newly formed support group for attorneys who identify as LGBT and as addicted, chemically dependent or alcoholic. Or if you are struggling with those issues, we can help. Meetings are currently held once monthly on the last Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30. The location of the meeting rotates throughout NJ so that it is more easily accessed. The format is based on the same steps and principles of many community 12-step meetings (such as Alcoholics Anonymous) but we have no formal affiliation with those entities. We are a part of a statewide network of support group meetings for lawyers, judges, law students and law graduates known as Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL). This is the only LCL meeting targeted to the LGBTQ lawyer population. If you would like more information about the meetings, please call NJLAP at 800-246-5527.
